A Special Kit For Making In-Flight Old Fashioned Cocktails

PastedGraphic-2

by Shaun Layton | We all love travelling, and we all love drinking, or at least most of us who frequent Scout anyway. The two go hand in hand, except when operating machinery. In the air, I’m good as long as I’ve got a cold beer or a glass of bubbles, but that’s because I’ve never really had the option of crushing an Old Fashioned while cruising at thirty-two thousand feet.

Enter the Carry-on Cocktail Kit. This genius creation from W & P Design and Punch out of Brooklyn is completely legal, which is to say it should make it through customs no problem. The kit comes in a stylish metal tin which contains everything you need for an Old Fashioned including a recipe card, aromatic bitters, cane sugar, and even a linen coaster.

The cost? $24, and the only thing missing is the miniature bottle of bourbon, which you can only order once you’re safely in the air. It’s a very expensive drink in the end, but it’s still a sight cheaper than first class (where you can’t get an Old Fashioned either).
