The Goods from Savoury Chef

Vancouver, BC | For the second consecutive season, Savoury Chef Foods has been selected as the exclusive caterer to the “VIP Experience” portion of the Vancouver leg of TOTEM, Cirque du Soleil’s latest tour. TOTEM takes centre stage under the big top at Concord Pacific Place at 88 Pacific Boulevard from May 15 through to July 6. This marks only the second occasion that the internationally recognized entertainment company has chosen to outsource its catering services in Vancouver in lieu of traveling with its own staff. Savoury Chef was also tapped to coordinate the planning and execution of the menu for Cirque du Soleil’s “VIP Rouge” tent during the Amaluna tour in 2012/2013.

Premium VIP Experience tickets to TOTEM offer guests an intimate outing that combines the best seats available with five-star hospitality. Savoury Chef’s gourmet cuisine will be paired with Cirque du Soleil’s trademark flair in a festive atmosphere before and during the intermission of each TOTEM performance.

Led by executive chef and co-founder Taryn Wa, the Savoury Chef team has custom-designed an exclusive menu inspired by the vibrant colours, acrobatic movements and stage design of the TOTEM production, ensuring that while guests enjoy a feast for the eyes onstage they also sample a feast for the palate. Among the imaginative fare is the Spinach and Ricotta Gnudi, inspired by the “giant turtle” stage design; the art-deco flair of Kazu “Valentino” Heritage Beef with Shredded Yam Spread, matching the background colours of the set; and the Matcha Green Tea Macarons with Dark Chocolate Ganache that mirror the show’s greenery and forest themes.
