“If The Byrds didn’t do country-rock first, they did it brilliantly, and few albums in the style are as beautiful and emotionally affecting as this” – AMG

“But, while Parsons was more of a heroin addict than a pedagogue, if he’s taught me anything, it’s that there was no “first” country-rock record. Country has always rocked.” – 9.7 review from Pitchfork

“Sweetheart of the Rodeo had a direct influence on countless artists, including The Eagles, R.E.M., and Wilco, not to mention the entire alt-country community from the past decade.” – PopMatters

About The Biltmore

blights1

For over 50 years, the Biltmore has been a fixture in the community as both a public house for Vancouverites and a platform for groundbreaking musical performances.

With the revitalization of historic Mount Pleasant, the bar was reopened in 2007 as The Biltmore Cabaret, with a fresh focus to recapture its musical tradition. Drawing from the rich local scene in Vancouver as well as the best in Canadian and international touring acts, The Biltmore Cabaret showcases talent from across a wide spectrum of music and the arts.

We have a fantastic sound and lighting system at The Biltmore, check out our full tech specs here.
