photos via Katie Piasta | It looks like firefighters are currently battling a nasty fire above the Liberty Market convenience store on East Hastings just off of Carrall Street. That’s right next to the Hotel Pennsylvania, which provides 44 studio apartments and support services for low-income residents of the DTES (Hastings is closed from Abbott to Columbia, right in the middle of rush hour – ouch).
