DINER: Fraserhood’s “Earnest Ice Cream” Parlour & Cafe Inching Closer To Opening

earnest

It’s time for an update on Earnest Ice Cream’s upcoming new Fraserhood facility. According to co-owner Erica Bernardi, everything is coming along nicely at 3992 Fraser St. (the old Outpost Cafe address). There are “still quite a few finishes and final touches to go, but it’s definitely getting there,” she says. “We’ll move production over next week and will hopefully have the FOH open a week or two after that.” As we noted back in April, “they plan on using the space as a production facility, retail store, ice cream parlour and cafe, and hope to have it open by June. That means ice cream cones, sundaes, shakes, affogatos (yes!) and pints, with really good espressos and pour-over coffees to boot.” We took these shots a few weeks ago, so things have spiffed up considerably since. We’ll take another look closer to opening day, so stay tuned.

Their careers meant that most of my early years were spent in kitchens and dining rooms instead of on playgrounds and soccer fields; consequently, I learned my table manners before I could count past one hundred.
