SEEN IN VANCOUVER #452: Scenes From The “Queen Of Tsawwassen” Book Launch

tsawwassen

by Michelle Sproule | I have a girl crush on talented local photographer Jennilee Marigomen (stoked by her gorgeous Instagram feed). Anyway, for the past year she’s been working on a new book called Queen of Tsawwassen with fellow Canadian photographers Ali Bosworth, Seth Fluker, Dan Siney, and Chris Taylor for Japanese publisher twelvebooks and Inventory Magazine.

Commonality of place and photographic sensibility combine in Queen of Tsawwassen, an edited collection of images showcasing the work of five emerging Canadian photographers. The title is a reference to one of the original BC Ferries which operated between Vancouver Island and the mainland – a unique region of the Pacific Northwest where much of the book’s imagery was captured.

They just launched the 120-page, hardcover, clothbound lovely (only 500 made) at Inventory’s Gastown shop over the weekend and I was very sad to miss it. As you can see from the shots above, Jennilee was kind enough to shoot the launch party for us, for which we are especially grateful. You can purchase Queen Of Tsawwassen here.
