The GOODS from Tacofino
Vancouver, BC | Tacofino Commissary is delighted to welcome Gino Di Domenico to the Tacofino family. Gino brings a wealth of hospitality management experience to his new role at the Commissary, located at 2327 East Hastings, in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood. After graduating from Concordia University, Gino was floor manager at the Ristorante Otto in the prestigious W Hotel in Montreal. Upon moving to Vancouver, he moved into assistant management positions with the Steamworks Brewing Company as well as the Spectra Group of Great Restaurants. Most recently, Gino helped open Vancouver’s first VPN-certified Neapolitan pizzeria – Nicli Antica Pizzeria – in Gastown. He was General Manager there for the past 2 1/2 years where he was loved and respected by staff and public alike (the feeling was mutual). “I am excited to be joining the Tacofino family, and about becoming a member of this growing and vibrant neighbourhood here in Hastings Sunrise,” says Gino.
The cocktail menu has new additions and neighbourhood classics, like the brunch favorite “El Cesar” with house-made clamato, ancho chili-infused tequila and smoked olives. Menu highlights at the Commissary include the famous Baja-style Fish tacos ($5), the Diablo cookie ($2.50) and the decadent Lime Curd Vaso. The menu also features a variety of new tacos now with vegetarian and vegan options, as well as seasonal specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Tacofino Commissary is open for lunch Monday to Friday 1130-3, dinner Monday to Saturday 5pm til late and brunch Saturdays and Sundays 11-3. The infamous taco truck is also available for catering and special events. Please visit www.tacofino.com to book it.

About Tacofino
Tacofino was born out of a desire to create a unique dining experience by offering quality, freshness and affordability with an environmental and nutritional conscience. Fast “slow” food is a concept that really appeals to us, so we make everything from scratch and with love, but without the wait. Our menu is inspired by our world travels, taking the Baja-style taco to another level. Our truck has been a phenomenon in Tofino; it is vibrant, bright orange, with local artist Lee Robinsong’s painting of the Virgin de Guadalupe holding a taco. It is an homage to the birthplace of the taco, Mexico and Baja California. We now have trucks in Vancouver and Victoria as well; and most recently, we grew up and opened our new East Van eatery, Tacofino Commissary.
Bravo Gino!
Welcome Gino! We’re so glad to include Tacofino’s Commissary in our commercial district, situated in the Vancouver neighbourhoods of Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland. The Commissary, located in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood, is a fabulous addition to our East Village shopping and dining district. We can’t get enough of their tasty tacos!
I loved the menu, me having learned it, while I was employed there for a bit. The food is spectacular, the staff are exceptional, and the atmosphere is one of a kind. I have also been to the “Blood Alley” location, where “Tacofino” has expanded, yet again, to include a Taco-Bar, serving more than just alcohol, but all your favorite taco’s and burrito’s from “Tofino” and the “Hasting’s” location. I recommend you try-out all of the menu-item’s, and stay for the unique ambiance, at each location. Cheers!
