A Drinker’s Guide To Vancouver Hotels: Red Satin Slip At “Bacchus At The Wedgewood”

redsatin

Bacchus is a proper hotel lounge (the Wedgewood being a Relais & Chateaux property) with wing-backed chairs and lacquered fine furniture. Accents of wood, plush carpets and rich colours add to its overall luxurious feel, as does its mix of well-heeled regulars and deep pocketed visitors eschewing the more corporate hotel brands. Famed for its impeccable service and traditional cocktails, Bacchus is private and calm, the kind of lounge that could easily entice you in from the street with the promise of comfort and then hold you there for the balance of an afternoon and well into the evening. Like a magical bubble (or soft narcotic), it is definitely one Vancouver’s best hotel lounges. Bonus: on weekdays between 4pm and 6pm, the hotel circulates a tiered tray of complimentary h’orderves to guests of the lounge.
