Vancouver, BC | East of Main Cafe and Project Limelight Society proudly present Monday Night Live, a unique evening of storytelling featuring actors, directors, producers, agents, casting directors, and other film industry professionals. East of Main Cafe provides a topic and 7 minutes for film industry professionals to tell their story. Enthusiasts, fans and colleagues are encouraged to fill the audience. Admission is free but donations will be accepted to Project Limelight Society, a free performing arts program for children living in Vancouver’s DTES. Head to East of Main early for drinks and tapas in order to secure a seat for the 7pm start time. This intimate evening will conclude with a candid Q and A with the storytellers. 100% of the profits from East of Main Cafe benefit Project Limelight Society. With over 25 years of experience, Shawn Williamson has risen to the forefront of the Canadian film and television industry as a leading independent film and television producer. Through Brightlight Pictures, Shawn develops, finances, and produces feature films and television for the domestic and international marketplace. Recently, Shawn Executive Produced the feature film HORNS (Daniel Radcliffe), produced in conjunction with Mandalay Pictures and Red Granite Pictures. Shawn also Executive Produced THE COMPANY YOU KEEP (Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf) with Voltage Pictures, and the miniseries DELETE (Kier Gilchrist, Erin Karpluk). Shawn also served as a producer on a number of films including 50/50 (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen), THE POSSESSION (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), WHITE NOISE (Michael Keaton), PASSENGERS (Anne Hathaway, Patrick Wilson), and WICKER MAN (Nicholas Cage).
Sara was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada. After many years of playing on stage in Edmonton, Alberta, she moved to Vancouver to study acting at the Vancouver Film School. Among various television and film credits, Sara spent two years as series regular Jenna Sommers on the CW’s hit show, The Vampire Diaries and played a lead role on the SPACE/SyFy series Primeval: New World. She was honored with the Best Performance award at the Vancouver Women in Film Festival for her role in Black Field, a Canadian historical drama. Her role in the western TV movie Hannah’s Law garnered her a Leo nomination in 2012. This fall, Sara will be seen starring alongside Ryan Kwanten and Catherine O’Hara in the feature film The Right Kind of Wrong, as well as the darkly comedic thriller I Put a Hit on You, opposite Aaron Ashmore.
Most recently, Ryan has been busy filming his recurring role on THE KILLING and a supporting lead role in GODZILLA. Before that, he filmed a lead role in REASONABLE DOUBT with Samuel L. Jackson and Dominic Cooper. He also has heavily recurring roles on TNT’s FALLING SKIES and on AMC’s hit series, HELL ON WHEELS. Ryan is a multiple award winning Canadian actor who is also known for his series regular role on SyFy’s SANCTUARY and his lead role in the latest Weinstein Film, APPOLLO 18. In 2011, Ryan was cast to star in an episode of Kevin Tancheroen’s MORTAL KOMBAT series, as the role of RAIDEN. His episode has been downloaded over 4.5 million times, and as a result, Ryan has developed a large online fan base. ?In addition to Ryan’s television success, he is a very well recognized actor in the Canadian independent film scene. In 2011, Ryan starred in two well-received independent films at the Vancouver International Film Festival, EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE and MARILYN (starring opposite Allison Mack). In 2009, Ryan’s lead role in MANSON, MY NAME IS EVIL, which screened at the Toronto Film Festival, won him great reviews for his portrayal of Charles Manson.
