SEEN IN VANCOUVER #418: Over A Dozen Snowy Owls On The Hunt At Boundary Bay

A trip out to Boundary Bay was a bird nerd’s paradise yesterday. Not only was it largely free of precipitation (at least during the late morning), it was also home to over a dozen Snowy Owls. These gorgeous creatures – recently arrived and making a pit stop here during the winter – were joined by several Short Eared Owls, 10+ Bald Eagles, 1 Golden Eagle, 50+ Northern Harriers, a few Red Tailed Hawks, and many other species besides. If you have today or tomorrow off or just two hours free, high tail it to the spot below with some binoculars and a healthy respect for keeping your distance.
