HONOUR BOUND: Fundraiser For A Server Who Broke His Hand At Aprons For Gloves
As many Scout readers may recall, Romano ‘Cast Iron’ Castillo faced Christopher ‘The Human Hotdog’ Cho in an epic Title Fight on July 25th during the 2012 Restaurant Rumble. In the first round, Romano threw a straight left connecting with Cho’s chin, dropping him to the canvas. Cho got back up, ready to continue the fight, but Romano knew he had hurt his hand badly as a result of the shot. Like true warriors of the front of house, both men finished the full three rounds in Spartan-like fashion. Unfortunately, that one punch changed the course of the next few months for Castillo. He broke his left hand so severely that he needed surgery. Unable to move his hand for six weeks, he has been unable to work.
Castillo was very determined to raise money to help Vancouver at risk kids, so it’s only natural that the Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association would want to look out for the Castillo Family. The fundraiser will be hosted at The Cobalt to help support a warrior who gave his time, sweat and tears so selflessly to an organization he believed in. The evening is open to all.
When: Monday, September 17 – Doors open at 9pm
Where: The Cobalt (917 Main Street)

Proceeds from cover, Jameson Whiskey and Steam Whistle sales will go to help Romano and his family. Come out to have a good time, be the first to see Episode 6, and most importantly, to help a good man!
Honour Bound details the many cool things that we feel honour bound to check out because they either represent Vancouver exceptionally well or are inherently super awesome in one way or another
