Vancouver, BC | Mark your calendars for Vancouver Aquarium’s annual Toast to the Coast event, which takes place on Friday, October 12, 2012. One of the Aquarium’s signature fundraising events, Toast to the Coast directly supports the Aquarium’s conservation, research and education programs.

Each year, over 500 of Vancouver’s inspired individuals come together to celebrate aquatic conservation in style as the Vancouver Aquarium is transformed into a magical after-hours experience. Guests connect with aquatic life while they nosh on exquisite canapés from leading Ocean Wise restaurants, sample the best of B.C.’s local wines, boogie to live music and leave with chic items from the silent auction.

Set against the magical backdrop of the Aquarium at night, this year’s Ocean Wise partners include new participants Miradoro at Tinhorn Creek and Wild Rice, joined by some of Vancouver’s favourite seafood restaurants such as C restaurant and YEW Restaurant + Bar. Enjoy B.C.’s best wines including pours from Quail’s Gate Estate Winery, Blasted Church Vineyards and Hillside Estate Winery.

Guests are invited to partake in friendly competition at the silent auction which includes coveted items such as:

· An overnight stay for two guests in a Diamond Room with a sumptuous continental breakfast at Magnolia Hotel & Spa

· Le Creuset Café Collection featuring a French Press, cream and sugar set and two gorgeous mugs

· Pampered spa package by Stamford Spa & Salon

· Designed by Yves Behar and inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge, an enviable ergonomic chair by Herman Miller Canada Inc.

Vancouver Aquarium’s Toast to the Coast event takes place at 7:30 p.m. on October 12, 2012. Tickets are $95 and proceeds directly support the Aquarium’s conservation, research and education programs.
