The curation was evidently done with the 1% in mind (it’s really expensive), but it’s still worth a look. German designer Larissa Hadjio is one of the many great designers represented. Her sculptural bags are awesome. Of a Kind is a superb online shopping experience that really focuses on supporting up and coming designers and showcasing the talent of small businesses. I love the meet the designer section of the site where you can learn a lot about the people behind the products. If Vancouver and Canadian designers are your preference, you can find them there too. The National Ballet of Canada is celebrating 60 years of dance with a beautiful exhibit displaying 60 artfully constructed tutus. Flip through the photos to see some pretty amazing design and craftsmanship. Learn more about the Tutu Project here. And since we are on the topic of ballet, Montecristo paired up with Ballet B.C to collaborate on a stunning editorial shoot with Vancouver based photographers Gene Doe. The combination of dancers performing in beautiful clothes can not be beat. Check out the video above. Take a stroll to 2408 Main Street and discover the newly renovated Jewellerbau studio where artist and designer Dina González Mascaró showcases her beautifully-crafted, wearable art. ^ This video is short, but it gives inspiration and insight into the king of street style photography, The Sartorialist. Socks are so underrated. You must visit Strathcona Stockings to really see the potential. All items are designed and made in the studio and every print is completely original. I love the The Desert Flower print in particular. Sadly, in our city of flip flops, Toms and Hunter boots, I have a feeling we won’t be seeing this trend hit our lovely strreets anytime soon.
