Vancouver, BC | The Lazy Gourmet is hiring a new Sous Chef. Our new sous chef will work with our Executive Chef to achieve the highest standard of food and service in the catering industry. They will manage up to 25 cooks while putting in food orders, receiving products and managing the schedule. They will work with the Sales team to create new and exciting menus for our private, corporate and university clients while managing costing. The Sous Chef is the “face of the kitchen” to a lot of our clients and we expect him/her to occasionally go to our clients homes, businesses, boats or venues to manage the food service. Anything from a breakfast for 10 to a gala for 750, the Sous Chef will be a part of the process the entire way. They successful candidate will his/her Food Safe and Red Seal accreditation, and catering experience. The schedule will include at least one weekend day and some evenings. Baking experience a plus. The story our food tells is one rooted in true West Coast flavors spanning the past 30 years of food culture in Vancouver. Using only the finest ingredients we find local suppliers that can guarantee its freshness and eco-friendliness.
