Seen In Vancouver #373: A Sneak Peek At Pronto’s Brand New Back Patio Off Cambie

The very charming Pronto Caffe at 3473 Cambie is about to unleash upon the neighbourhood a new ace up its sleeve, a new patio tucked away in the back (away from the bustle of Cambie). From co-owner Angela Maida tonight:

We have built a 16-seat outdoor patio in the back of Pronto. When we constructed the restaurant we always had our eye on the green space out our back door. It used to be the backyard of one of the last remaining houses on Tupper. The house remains but Pronto got permission to use the space as a patio where the noise from Cambie is no longer audible, making it a bit of an oasis. There is an original cedar which casts shade over part of the patio and many areas still in full sun. It was designed by Ko Jubilio, an up and coming local designer (Emily Carr grad). Ko cast every one of the paver stones out of concrete in moulds that he created to give it the look of weathered wood planks.

There are, according to Maida, a few finishing touches left, but it’s pretty much a go (weather permitting).
