About Stylegarage

Opened in 2000, the original STYLEGARAGE space in Toronto was the brainchild of industrial designer David Podsiadlo and his marketing-whiz wife Amanda Schuler. The focus of the shop has always been on made-to-order furniture and accents, using honest materials and classic forms. With a commitment to consistent craftsmanship and an emphasis on Canadian design, they’ve striven to be a destination for custom modern furniture, tailored to their customer’s needs. With the success of the Stylegarage storefront, the business partners decided to branch off and form a wholesale company, Gus* Modern, a brand with the same clean-lined modern aesthetic, that is now available across North America. All Gus* upholstery features FSC certified solid hardwood frames, so they’re especially proud to carry eco-friendly products that support responsible forest management. The newest branch on the Stylegarage family tree is the showroom in Vancouver’s Gastown neighbourhood, opened in September 2011. Signature made-in-Canada upholstery, storage, dining, and accents can be found alongside Western Canada’s largest selection of Gus* Modern in-stock furniture, accents, and accessories. Stylegarage is still getting to know the neighbours here in Vancouver but so far the welcome has been warm and they’re excited to put down some roots and connect with the city’s design community.

Vitamin Daily | “Whether it’s a made-to-order piece by industrial designer David Podsiadlo or a sleek sectional from the in-stock Gus* Modern line, furniture-loving Metro Vancouverites can get their fill.”

Vancouver Sun | “Torontonians have been feathering their nests with its organic modern furniture for more than a decade, and now Stylegarage has put down roots in Vancouver.”
