(VANCOUVER, BC) | Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is looking for a Restaurant Instructor (evening shift). The Restaurant Instructor reports directly to the Director of Food and Beverage Services. The main responsibility of this position is to train Culinary and Baking & Pastry Arts students in all aspects of food and beverage service in a full service restaurant environment. Following the Institute’s curriculum and objectives, the Restaurant Instructor organizes, directs, and coordinates the students and resources of the restaurant to achieve an outstanding customer service experience for our guests. Duties will include (but are not limited to):

– Training and motivating students
– Working with Chef Instructors and other staff members to ensure smooth running of service operation
– Supervising service of alcohol to maximize profitability whilst minimizing legal liability and conforming to regulations of the liquor board
– Investigating and resolving complaints concerning food quality and service
– Enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas
– Complying with all health and safety regulations
– Leading by example by following through the service standards of Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts from the moment first contact is made with the guest up to final departure
– Ensuring students adhere to uniform standards as outlined in the Student Handbook
– Processing guest checks and ensure accurate cash-out
– Delivering training sessions as required
– Meeting and greeting customers and organizing table reservations
– Participating in and supervising off-site catering/events as required
– Performing any other duties as assigned by management

Applicants must possess the following:

– Minimum of 10 years Front-of-the-house and management experience.
– Experience with H&L point of sale preferred.
– Previous teaching experience.
– A valid drivers licence.
– A passion for both mentoring and creating a memorable guest experiences.
