The GOODS from Dockside

Vancouver, BC | Perhaps it’s just post-holiday blahs but there’s sometimes a tendency for Vancouver restaurant staff to turn a jaundiced eye toward Dine Out, the now 10-year old celebration of Vancouver’s vibrant dining scene. Not so, here at Dockside Restaurant and Brewing Company! The 10th edition of Dine Out Vancouver is set to be the biggest yet and we’re proudly jumping with both feet by participating in two Dine Out Special events while also offering a three-course set menu throughout the festival.

This year’s Dine Out opening event, “Plated and Paired at the Public Market” features dishes from a number of Granville Island favourites paired with BC wines and served after hours in the Granville Island Market. With live jazz and the rare chance to enjoy the World-famous Public Market as a social venue. We’re extremely excited to be part of this sold out opening event.

Granville Island is one of Canada’s premiere destinations for live theatre and music and so it’s natural that the Dine Out “Act One, Eat One” dinner and theatre packages included a Granville Island stop. We’re teaming up with the Arts Club Theatre to offer a great night on the Island. For only $78 including all taxes guests will be treated to a fabulous three-course dinner at Dockside, followed by a premiere show of “Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantata” a show of personal ads collected from Craigslist set to music by Vancouver legends Veda HIlle and Bill Richardson. Click here to book online.

The main event of the Festival for us, though, is the $28 three-course menu we’ll be offering every day during Dine Out. The menu includes brand new creations specifically for Dine Out including a Braised Veal Shank entrée, a Halibut & Prawns main and a new Scallop & Prosciutto appetizer and, by popular request this year, we’ve also provided a delicious vegetarian option for every course on the menu. Dine Out is back for its 10th great edition and we’re happy to be part of it once again.

About Dockside

The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.

The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

These three venues offer seating options that are perfect for groups from 4 to 200. With signature elements like a 50-foot aquarium and an open kitchen, each meal is an experience for all the senses. Located adjacent to the boutique Granville Island Hotel, the Dockside Restaurant is open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended.

Reviews

“This is our very favorite place. We drive into town from Delta and make an evening of browsing through Granville Isl. Market. The restaurnat is perfect for a quiet evening.View is wonderful. I appreciate the spacious arrangement of the tables. We have our favorite table, the staff and service is fabulous. I had the herb crusted Halibut – it was delicious and my husband enjoyed the slate fish. It was a memorable evening. We look forward to another visist very soon. As well, we have enjoyed the great patio – has to be one of Vancouver’s best.” OpenTable.com

“We have going to Vancouver for many years and most recently (if twenty years can be considered recently) staying exclusively at the wonderful Graville Island Hotel. Because we have an aversion to hotel restaurants, this is the first time we have had dinner there. It was one of the finest dinners we have in a city that is known for its fine restaurants. Outstanding in every way!” OpenTable.com

“We enjoyed the welcoming feel of the restaurant – appropriate lighting, comfortable seating – it is like a comfortable dining room. We will return again as the restaurant has once again met our expectations. The salmon was nicely prepared and the lamb was well presented and excellent on the tongue. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.” OpenTable.com
