A no messing around guide to the coolest things to eat, drink and do in Vancouver and beyond. Community. Not clickbait.

SWAG: Win A Pair Of Tickets To “Vancouver Seen” At The International Writer’s Festival

We have a pair of tickets to give away to the like-to-be-fascinating Vancouver Seen talk on Tuesday, October 18th (8pm) at the Waterfront Theatre featuring local writers Kevin Chong, Dennis E. Blolen, Zsuzsi Gartner and Jen Sookfong Lee.

Vancouver has established itself as a hotbed of Canadian literary talent and activity. What is it about Vancouver that holds the attention of writers who could travel in their fertile imaginations throughout the world to exotic settings for their fiction? Why do they write about here? What kind of literary community exists in Vancouver? What is the nature of relationships between writers? Is there an element of competition amongst the cameraderie? Come and meet four diverse authors who come to the page comfortable with staying home.

It’s part of the Vancouver International Writer’s Festival and we’re going to give them away tonight on our Facebook page at midnight-ish. As we’ve noted before, it’s where – in addition to posting photos, videos and news tidbits that don’t make Scout’s front page – we often give away concert tickets and other awesome, fulfilling freebies, just like this.
