The GOODS from La Brasserie

Vancouver, BC | This coming Labour Day, La Brasserie will be serving up Bayrische Schweins Haxen, or Bavarian Pork Hock as it’s known to anglophones. It’s a bit of a preview of what the restaurant has coming for this year’s Oktoberfest, which is closer than you’d think. The rotisserie pork leg is ridiculously delicious and served with sauerkraut and parsley potatoes ($25). Throw in a half litre of Konig Ludwig’s hefeweizen for an extra five bucks and you’re set…

About La Brasserie

lb_interior1

La Brasserie is a 35-seat Franco-German restaurant situated in the heart of Vancouver’s West End. Brothers Michael and Stephen Wiese have given Davie St. a cozy neighborhood gem that showcases the best of French and German comfort food. Classic dishes like Steak Onglet & Frites, Spicy Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, and Suckling Pig & Schupfnudel are served alongside a selection of over 30 hard-to-find European beers and a list of 12 wines, all available by the glass or the bottle. Dark wood tables and chairs, paired with deep red walls and leather banquets, with a stained-glass Tiffany lamp as a centerpiece, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that blurs the line between fine dining room and neighborhood bistro.
