The GOODS from Beachside Forno
West Vancouver, BC | Beachside Forno is hosting a fun, food and wine-fuelled evening on June 27th. Designed and led by Vancouver’s affable and charming wine luminary, Kurtis Kolt, the night – “Spring into Summer” – will be an enjoyable, casual celebration of summery wines and matching food pairings…with a twist.
If you aren’t familiar with the wines being served, then you’ve got the point. Kolt will introduce diners to lesser known, but equally refreshing and delicious summer sippers from across the globe. For only $50 per guest*, the night will begin with a sparkling wine and canapé reception featuring three types of bubbles and some tasty bites.
Guests will then be invited to sit down and enjoy a three-course meal inspired by the spirit, ingredients and wines of summer. Diners will head home with some new wine pairing tips, take-home materials and ideally a renewed enthusiasm for becoming more adventurous with their wine choices.
“I love sharing the reasoning behind my enthusiasm for wine with people,” says Kolt. “I chose the specific wines for Beachside’s ‘Spring into Summer’ dinner because they are delicious, summer-appropriate wines that are meant to be some nice discoveries for guests.”
An accomplished and well-respected wine educator, consultant and judge, Kolt has a brand new wine column in the Westender and is a contributing writer to Wine Access magazine. Recent career recognition includes being named “Sommelier of the Year” by both the 2010 Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival and Vancouver magazine, and being included as one of Western Canada’s “Top 40 Foodies Under 40” by Western Living magazine.

Mark your calendar for two more upcoming wine dinners led by Kolt. On Monday, July 25, get to “Know Your Neighbours” as Kolt’s picks will highlight the wineries of North Shore proprietors.
