News from Scout supporter ChalkXChange

Vancouver, BC | ChalkXChange is happy to be hosting a book arts show and tell evening tonight with Felice Tebbe from Brookyn, New York. Presented by the Alcuin Society, the evening will feature an intimate look at a selection of artists books from over 100 artists, from the arts organization appropriately known as “Booklyn”.

Founded in 1999, Booklyn is an artist-run, nonprofit organization headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. Their mission is to promote artist books as an art form and educational resource; to provide educational institutions and the public with programming involving contemporary artist books; and to assist artists in exhibiting, distributing, and publishing innovative bookwork.

Felice Tebbe is a poet, printmaker, painter and bookmaker who did book design for the AAUP for 12 years before joining Booklyn in sales in 2007. She holds a BFA in Graphics from UW Madison & an MFA in Printmaking and a graduate certificate at the Center for the Book both from the University of Iowa. A native of the NY tri-state area, she was one of the first Booklyn artists. One of her favorite things in the world is showing people things they love to see.

The event is free, and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by the Alcuin Society. Details after the jump…

ChalkXChange

ChalkXChange is a neighbourhood creative commons. Like a favourite corner store, we’re nearby and sometimes serve pie. Rather than groceries, we stock ideas, stories and activities. Getting together as neighbors is the foundation for creative neighbourhoods, and in turn, creative cities. At ChalkXChange, we draw on our collective creative arts and invite the public to participate in events, workshops and projects.
