by Sean Orr | Death of Osama bin Laden does not mean the death of bin Ladenism. Well, he wasn’t the first and he wont be the last. So…should we keep Harper’s F-16s or not?
Since the historic news came from Twitter, I’m going to post my favourite #Osama moments of the past 12 hours or so:
@me_irl “Beloved character actor Osama bin Laden, star of TV’s “Fox News”, dies age 54″
@drgrist “Turns out sending some badass special ops guys into Pakistan is a more effective way of killing Bin Laden than invading Iraq”
@SamerKaram “10 years, 2 wars, 919,967 deaths, and $1,188,263,000,000 later, we managed to kill one person. Worth it?”
@KurtisKolt “I have never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure. – Mark Twain”
@movingsideways “Breaking: US Terror Alert Raised to “confetti”
@Ryan_Kesler. “Proud to be an American!! Justice is finally served!” [yeah, now go win us a cup!]
And yours truly: “IT’S NOT OVER! Frodo still has to put the ring in the volcano!”
Meanwhile this guy accidentally live-blogged the whole thing not knowing it was about bin Laden.
And within moments Google Maps had cheekily pin-pointed his location, like they knew the whole time.
Don’t forget though, The Jasmine Revolution exposes bin Laden’s failed revolution. It was the people who rejected him, except that he actually opposed the same despotic regimes that are now being toppled. Oh well, at least it gives the media a whole new crop of bad guys to sensationalize.
