The GOODS from Hawksworth

Vancouver, BC | Hawksworth Restaurant is delighted to confirm the appointment of Chad Clark as General Manager, effective immediately. Similarly to both Chef David Hawksworth and Wine Director Terry Threlfall, Clark’s professional resume also includes time spent in London, UK. Clark, who was part of the integral opening team of the widely acclaimed Tom’s Kitchen in Chelsea, cites his time spent working with two star Michelin Chef Tom Aikens, as one of his most inspiring tenures to date.

Of his appointment to the team, Chef Hawksworth states, “I couldn’t have wished for anyone better to lead our service and operations and to help me get this restaurant open. Chad has an acute understanding of what it takes to open a high caliber restaurant; he has an incredible work ethic, is the ultimate professional and nothing seems to ruffle him. His ready smile and engaging personality combined with stellar experience are a valuable asset to our team.”

Indeed Clark’s individual flair and expertise have led him to manage and consult for leading restaurants across Canada including in Vancouver at Lumière and Feenies, Chambar, Café Medina and Boneta, before relocating to Montreal to become general manager of Koko Restaurant & Bar at Opus Montreal. Most recently Clark returned to Vancouver to open to Oru at the Fairmount Pacific Rim just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Of his latest challenge Clark says: “I’m thrilled to be part of such an exciting opening and am fully committed to hiring and training a team of like-minded individuals that share our philosophies and goals. We want our guests to feel relaxed and welcome and to be thoroughly entertained when they come; to enjoy a level and style of service that matches the quality and excellence of the food, but also reflects the energy and drama of the space – we hope to make each visit a compelling reason to come back.”

With a background that includes classical music and opera training from the University of Toronto, as well as a foray into the fashion world before he set his heart on a hospitality career, Clark brings a wealth of diverse talent, personality and professionalism to Hawksworth Restaurant. His goal is to enhance the Vancouver dining scene by delivering value and service alongside culinary excellence within a remarkable environment.
