Tea & Two Slices: Big Bad Harper, Christy Palin And Mike Klassen’s Blogosphere…

by Sean Orr | Who’s afraid of a big, bad Harper majority? Do you mean aside from most of the population?

“A majority government would allow the Conservatives to push through a copyright law, and much else: Refugee legislation would permit the detention of claimants who arrive en masse; senators would be elected to a single eight-year term; the gun registry would be toast. And maybe a majority would give the Conservatives the courage to take on some sacred cows: abolishing agriculture marketing boards that have left Canada frozen out of Pacific free-trade talks and stymied other trade deals; introducing an element of private-sector market discipline to public health care; forging closer trade and security ties with the United States”.

Yes, that is exactly what we are afraid of. Thanks for making a handy list for us to decide!

Clark pushes families-first agenda. Oh cool! So she’s going to restore the cuts made to the Ministry of Children and Family Development, instate a living wage for mothers and single mothers, re-instate a freeze on tuition, transfer corporate tax breaks to the working class, rally for job protection, provide free daycare similar to Quebec, re-instate the cuts her party made to extra-curricular sports, and increase health care spending? No? Not any of those? Instead she’s going to make a new holiday called Family Day? Cool! Guess what? We just elected Sarah Palin as premier!

But let’s get to the real issue: How did Gregor congratulate Christy? “Instead of just sending a short congratulatory message to BC’s new Premier, he sent out what many consider as a very classless news release which isn’t going over so well in the blogosphere”. Keep in mind, Mike, that the blogosphere isn’t the name of the space between your ears…

They’re setting up camp! Wait! They’re dismantling the camp! Nobody cares! Especially the local media!

Critical Massacre (graphic video): Watch this and tell me you still think cyclists are the problem. On second thought, don’t watch this. At all. Where is the outrage? There isn’t one mainstream news article on this. Shame.

Man, I wish my high-school had been this cool. (via Reddit)

  1. Sean, I’ve always appreciated the attention you give me over the years. On this one though, I think you’re going to have to upbraid your crack Scout Magazine research squad. The post you mention about Mayor Gregor’s ill-considered political wish list wasn’t written by me. Rather, it was written by my colleague Daniel. Thought I’d correct the record b/c Daniel hates it when I get all the credit.

    Cheers

  2. Since this morning I’ve been convinced that the space between your ears is actually the blogosphere. Damn.

  3. Hey Seanny, good retort. You’ve lost your edge apparently.

Perennial/chronic losers like yourself only make me laugh.

Mike, don’t blame the Scout research squad, I can tell you from reading other posts on this site that the rest are actually quite balanced and intelligent. The only ill-informed and small brained individual is the sepia coloured scrub pictured above.
