The GOODS from Pied-a-Terre, La Buca, and Cafeteria

Vancouver, BC | Diners in search of sparkle this Valentine’s Day will flock to Andrey Durbach and Chris Stewart’s neighbourhood restaurants, Cafeteria, Pied-à-Terre, and La Buca. Reasonably priced boutique wines and cocktails match three-course menus that are rich in flavour and value. Get all the details on what each restaurant has in store for their guests on the 14th after the jump…

For one night only, Main Street’s Cafeteria will be taking early and late reservations with limited seats held for last-minute lovers. Durbach’s dishes offer plenty of choice for those feeling a little bold: waygu beef tataki in spicy ponzu sauce with sesame spinach and shiitake; fillets of sole stuffed with smoked salmon and spot prawns; and peanut butter pie dripping in banana sauce for dessert. Priced at $47.50 per person. Please visit www.cafeteriavancouver.ca for more information.

Cupid’s arrow is also set to hit Pied-à-Terre, Cambie Street’s fortified French hotspot, with a menu that offers decadence by the plate. After canapés for two, order from a number of choices, including the foie gras parfait with sour cherry preserves and brioche for starters; a duo of beef shortrib and tenderloin with braised vegetables and pommes Anna as a main; and finish off with Roquefort cheese, port glazed pear, and micro salad to cleanse the palate. Priced at $59 per person. To peruse all the V-Day options, visit www.pied-a-terre-bistro.ca.

On the menu at La Buca is some inevitable Italian romance mixed with classic flavours of Italy: lobster ravioli with chervil, chives, and tomato in a lobster cream; Bistecca Fiorentina for two; roast duck breast with cherries and almonds cooked in Amarone wine; and semifreddo with burnt orange and vanilla caramel for something sweet. La Buca’s menu is priced at $59 per person. For full menus visit: http://www.labuca.ca.
