The First Candidate For The Worst Restaurant Name Of 2011?

photo

Many thanks to readers SL and RB who sent in cell shots of this recently unveiled “Exotic Sushi & BBQ Lounge & Restaurant” on the Granville strip (1149 Granville). It’s called Point Zero, making it oh-so-easy for casual passersby to assume there would be zero point in going inside.

Extra yikes: this is the old Space Lounge location, which was slapped with an $82,000+ distress warrant last March. We wish them good luck.

  1. They are probably related to Point Zero Beijing style hotpot and BBQ skewer restaurant on Richmond’s Alexandra Rd. It is popular amongst the young Chinese set (mainly Mainlanders and Taiwanese) for the skewers and cheap Yanjing beer…also famous for its atrocious service.

  2. Well, I enjoyed my dinner there on NYE, was pretty packed after NYE as well with a late 20s, early 30s white crowd..

  3. FMED is right – Point Zero Beijing Style Hotpot and BBQ in Richmond is a horrible palce to visit with horrible service and crappy industrial Yanjing Beer. Don’t know much about the Poitn Zero on Granville but probably will not be visiting.
