He’s a chef in India who left his five star hotel employ seven years ago to provide meals and aid to the lowest caste’s aged castaways, sick, and mentally ill. His story comes at New Year’s Eve, the time of year when we take stock of what we’ve accomplished since the Earth was last here in its whirl around the Sun. “I am just a human being,” Krishnan says. And so are we, only we’re suffering from turkey dysentery and Recycle Box overload, and own dead trees that shed needles in our living rooms. We’re on the short list for Heroes of 2011. For sure.
