I popped in to Sean Heather’s brand new Everything Cafe at 75 East Pender today for a very satisfying lunch (meatball sandwich = revelation). It’s a lovely space, more poshly modern than I expected, but still totally casual. Dug the studded burgundy banquette and the light fixtures, especially the scripted blue neon on concrete. Cozy as all get out, but not too pretty.

Actually happened to be there making coffee for the boys a couple of weeks ago and I love the design. The paint-chipped, weathered, wood-slat wall is my favourite. Actually had no idea it was Sean’s place!

On another note of openings, does anyone know the story of TransContinental? It has been closed and “reno-ing” for a while now….
