We have dozens of tickets to give away to the new WB comedy Cop Out, starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis. The first 20 people to tell us in the comments where they watched the Canada-USA gold medal hockey game (with a few words on what it was like) will win a free pair.
I ended up drinking too much Strongbow, and began to wander from pub to pub watching the game. I managed to catch all the goals and the ensuing high-fives from the frenzied team canada fans. Everywhere I went was an intense party, except for the stunned silence of the last american goal. But the cheer that went up when Sidney Crosby finally scored in overtime……my ears are still ringing. Great day and great game!
Watched the game at home. Cried with my mom on the phone when they won. Celebrated by walking through Gastown, to soak it all in.
Watched the game at the StadiumClub at Edgewater Casino – it was AWESOME… lots of beer, hotdogs and chips.. sitting in a large theatre with many other screaming fans… beer flew everywhere when Crosby scored the winning goal!
On my couch and it stunk, because I’m American. Actually, it wasn’t THAT bad — was psyched for how Team USA represented themselves.
At my boyfriends apartment drinking American beer, eating Trader Joes guac and wearing team Canadian jerseys. The perfect way for an American to cheer for Canada! (pretty sure its going to help my PR application)
in the tent at Library Square with the best bunch of people i know (the boneta & diamond staff + some random other friends thrown in for good measure).
an well-fought battle by both sides.
big ups to team u.s.a. for a huge showing!
great game, great day. đ
Watched it at home on my couch with friends. I ended up being an hour late for work (in addition to the extra hour I was granted to watch the game). Wish I could have been downtown for the celebration though…
at Marmalade Restaurant with a dozen lovely Canadians, over brunch and drinks; we quieted down when the score evened up; the whole place erupted at winning; several of us joined the Granville Street crowd till it became a total crush… great afternoon; great to feel the Spirit of the Nation throughout the Games… may it shine throughout the Paralympics now !
Watched it with a dozen others at a friend’s in the west end. First time my sobriety was tested by mimosa’s whilst watching sport. Best part was the wild abandon of celebration that followed each goal. We high-fived strangers on Granville after the game and took fun photos with a happy fireman.
I had my three kids and their three cousins, so before the game started we wandered through Yaletown chanting CA..NA..DA.. It really seemed to catch on (kids can make adults chant things real easy like.) Afterwards we watched from my living room occasionally spilling out onto the balcony to scream CANADACANADACANADA!!!! After the game I gave out 163 consecutive high fives to proud Canadians in a three block radius.
I watched the game at home with friends. I woke up at 6am to get a pork shoulder in the oven for 2nd intermission pulled pork sandwiches. We headed downtown after the game to enjoy the festivities. I am now experiencing a post-Olympic hangover, literally and figuratively.
Watched it with my gf while consuming salmon puffs, spiced cashews and of course, beer! It was less rowdy at her place but allowed me to better concentrate on the game. We saved the woohoo-ing until after the game when we joined the crowds downtown. Great game!
watched at a friends, hoping that the person in the suite below was into the game as there was much stomping. held a single candle vigil during the OT intermission. walked across Cambie to the Ukranian House in hopes of finding perogies to soak up the drank. offerings didn’t look good so we bounced to the streets amid much honking and flag waving.
Watched it at a friends condo in Coal Harbour. It was insane how many people there was on the streets below screaming at every goal Canada scored and when Canada won, everyone went onto their patios of their condos and just went crazy! All you saw was red on each patio hahaha.
Time of my life!
At 917 Main, the former Cobalt Space. The guys did a great job renovating the space. The game was projected onto a large bed sheet positioned in front of the stage. During commercials, shadow puppets were performed behind the sheet.
Beyond the obvious highlight of the big win for Canada was an American we met who called himself Techno Joe. He turned out to be a ridiculously crazy Texan and an Olympic ticket scalper who dances like a maniac and has 2 wives. This guy certainly made the Olympics for me.
Inside of Earls Yaletown after their complimentary breakfast! People were dancing on their seats and on top of the bar even after USA tied the game!!
Iginla’s falling down assist, (with two defenders around him) to Crosby (for the winning goal!! )will forever be in my memories!!
Then it was horn-honking time!!!!
Just wondering if anyone got the free tickets? Is this real?
Its for real. Tickets are being sent out today. đ
