Laughing Stock Vineyards releases their '07 Blind Trust Red and '08 Chardonnay

News From Scout Supporter Laughing Stock Vineyards

The sunshine has arrived on the Naramata Bench and so have our latest releases including:

Blind Trust Red 2007 | Just like a financial trust where executors have full discretion over the assets, our winemaker has full discretion over the wine blend so you’ll just have to trust us. HOWEVER, if you are really curious about what’s in the bottle, the assets are kept under wrap and seal (just peel back the capsule to reveal the blend). So we challenge you to blind taste the Blind Trust…without peeking. Available Now.

Recent review of Blind Trust Red 2007 by WineDiva.ca:

Oodles of berry and juicy cherry aromas, liberal dark chocolate and vanilla with savoury herbal tones of dried oregano and sage and szechuan peppercorns. Plummy, berry flavours on the palate with cocoa and plenty more savoury flavours echoing the nose. Good acidity throughout, and a smooth finish with spice flavours lingering. Pair with rich meat dishes…

Chardonnay 2008 – Making a well-balanced Chardonnay is a challenge that requires a level of judgement and restraint to fully showcase the fruit characteristics balanced with fullness and finesse that only French Oak can impart. We’ve been experimenting with larger format barrels called puncheons and this release demonstrates the advantage of these formats with moderate yet integrated oak flavours. This year’s vintage has a bit more acidity that adds fresh, not flabby, to a flavour profile of lush pineapple and lemon zest. Very much a Chablis versus a Montrachet style.
Available July 20th.
