Guess Which Lacklustre Joint Just Got Served In Gastown?

I think this might be too easy to guess as many of our readers live and work nearby. So I’ll just tell you. Flux Bistro at 162 Water Street in Gastown. It has had a “closed for renos” sign and unclaimed mail piling up behind their glass door (that has been locked for weeks), upon which are now plastered a Distress Warrant and a Notice of Seizure.

Can anyone spare $42,086?

That’s a good location for a solid concept. Anyone know about the lease? I want a third La Buca or a Spanish tapas joint.

  1. Yes, Gastown need a Spanish Tapas joint. And as a bonus there are already a bunch of names picked out. La Food Cave for example. Or what was it? Jabroni?

  2. opps sorry ment to say that has also been a curse on anyone over the last 10 years. It”s been a pasta jazz, joint and a Spanish restaurant in past lives.

  3. i never expected the place to re-open after the ‘closed for renovations’ sign went up, but i’m surprised that the owner just ran off without paying his debts. that’s too bad, because the location is prime.

they also had an excellent selection of booze. i wonder what will happen to the giant red wall of squares?
