Yaletown is a high density area of downtown (the area inside Pacific, Richards, and Smithe) that used to be a rough and tumble industrial district characterised by sketchy warehouses and railyards. Over the past twenty years, these have all either been leveled or been converted into expensive-yet-tiny lofts, high end retail shops, and many of the city’s most popular restaurants, clubs, and bars.
